Enrollment
In order for a
student to participate in any of the SYS orchestras, he or she
needs to audition for
the appropriate orchestra (see Auditions page) and be accepted
by the conductor of that group. At (or before) the fall Orientation
Meeting, an Enrollment Form
is to be filled out indicating the commitment to the
Tuition arrangement selected
and signed by the parent or guardian. Payment of
the Entrance Fee is also
required at this time.
Tuition Policy
The Spokane Youth Symphony
organization is funded 46% by tuition and 54% by grants, individual
donations, concert attendance donations and admissions and group
fundraising events. Our expenses include paid conductors,
administrative staff, music specialists for workshops and sectionals,
contributions for rehearsal space, rent for concert halls, music,
instruments, equipment, printing costs and general overall
organizational expenses. We strive to be conservative with our
expenditures while still dedicating our organization to providing an
enriching educational opportunity for our members.
The tuition for the 2007-2008 season shall be
as follows with an additional entrance fee required
upon enrollment: (Full tuition per year listed includes

Entrance Fee
Each member enrolling in any of the
Spokane Youth Symphony orchestras, including tuition assistance recipients,
orchestra aides, and security guards, will be assessed an Entrance Fee
equivalent to one (1) month's tuition for the orchestra in which the
student is enrolling. Entrance Fee is due and payable by September 15,
2007.
The Entrance Fee for the 2007-2008

The Entrance Fee will be assessed at
the time of enrollment for members joining after September 15, 2007.

SYS orchestra
members can receive a 20% commission by selling advertising in
our season program. There is a form to fill out
that will be included in the Orientation materials. The ad must be submitted and paid for by
October 4th. Available space and the fees are listed below:
Business card (3 1/2” wide X 2” tall) -

Quarter page (2 1/4” X 4” tall) - $165
Half page (4 1/2” wide X 4” tall) - $275
Full page (4 1/2 “ wide X 7 1/2” tall) - $385

Full tuition may be paid at Orientation or at the time of enrollment.
You may elect to pay tuition in eight (8) monthly payments. (Full payment at
time of enrollment amounts to a $20 savings for the year.) If you
elect the payment plan, tuition is due by the 5th of each month, from
September 2007 through April 2008.
Students enrolling late in the season will pay the Entrance Fee plus
the monthly tuition for the month in which they are joining the
orchestra and each month thereafter through April 2008.
